Asalaamualaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu.
I saw this picture today and noticed something. Even though the message in it is good, there is however a crown on top which has a CROSS on it.
So it is not appropriate for Muslims to be spreading the message of Islam with the aid of such things.
Harsh! You might say. But the thing is, these crosses are worshipped by the Christians and therefore are Idols which are worshipped besides Allaah.
Proof! You ask. Then you will find a Hadith in the Sunan of Imam Tirmidhi narrated by A’di Ibn Hatim:
Adi ibn Hatim reported: I came to the Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam while I had a cross of gold around my neck. He said, “O Adi! Remove this idol from yourself!” I heard him reciting the verse in Surah Bara’ah, “They have taken their priests and rabbis as Lords besides Allah.” (9:31) He said, “As for them, they did not worship them, but rather when they made something lawful for them they considered it lawful, and when they made something unlawful for them they considered it unlawful.”
[Sunan At-Tirmidhi, Book of Tafsir, Number 3095, Hasan]
So please O’ Muslims be careful ad mindful of the means you are using in trying to spread the message of Islam. And do not be relaxed in the issue either.
I ask Allaah to forgive our shortcomings and guide us all to the straight path. Ameeen.
Your brother in Islam Al-Fawaid.
